Stasi spied on the Pope (J. Ratzinger)

As the image reported Sunday, the Stasi agent searched in vain for among other incriminating documents from the youth of today Pope Benedict XVI. During the Third Reiches.Das sat Ministry of State Security since 1974, therefore at least eight agents of the East German foreign espionage for spying on a Ratzinger. Only two of the identity is known to date. Ratzinger had been considered by the Stasi as one of the fiercest opponents of communism, it was said. The friendship of the former archbishop of Munich-Freising with the future Pope John Paul II, Karol Woityla have played a role. The fact that the Stasi was well informed, therefore, confirms the fact that its spy properly with the code name "IDF George" in 1979 two years later Ratzinger's appointment was as chairman of the CDF predicted. The agents were detected after the prominent role of the German cardinal in the Vatican. "Ratzinger is the Vatican after the Pope and Secretary of State Casar Olli than is currently the most influential politicians and a leading ideologue," it said thus in the 80s in his Stasi file card. In February this year, image sought on Sunday to inspect the records of a "Stasi influence the churches Ratzinger's take the example of the person at the gallery. Employees of the Stasi Records Authority found various documents.

Stasi victims Reports - The Betrayed "Sport traitor" - Joerg Berger

The young Jörg Berger refused to be spoon-fed. Privately, he leads the mid-70s with an unsteady life-changing women's friendships. In friendship he has separated from his wife. For the Stasi, he is so, however, the uncertainty factor. Finally, he served as coach of the East German Junior National Team in a responsible post, which is commonly associated with West travel. Berger, however, on the instructions of the party may no longer travel. The recruitment as informer, is it by the Ministry of State Security offered as a supposed way out, he refuses. "People put pressure on me then that I should marry again," recalls Berger. "I was in a situation where I said: 'So you can not live the next thirty years!" I wanted to take my life into their own hands. " Berger receives a complete surprise in 1979 allowed to accompany the junior national team to Yugoslavia. Buy it is clear to him: From this trip he will not return to East Germany. The most difficult is the farewell to Ron, his eight-year-old son. Will he ever see him again? One last time his parents visited Jörg Berger in the northern city of Leipzig, only the mother, he tells of his plan, secretly in the attic. Both cry. Because the mother was often in the West already retired, it gives the son a piece of advice along the way: "Do not think the wait over there for you." As the train from Belgrade crossed the Austrian border, Berger leans out of the window and yells out his joy. His escape was successful. But shortly after arriving in Germany comes the disillusionment. The German Football Federation (DFB) are reserved in the case Berger. In no case would the largest sports association advised the Federal Republic under the suspicion of acting as emergency aid organization, and thus the already strained German-German relations to weigh on sports. The successful former East German coach selection will also make his first-time coach ticket, called the DFB condescending. Despite everything, he will soon make career in the Bundesliga, and more often his name appeared in the press.

for State Security Berger's success is a provocation. In their understanding, he is a "sport traitor", a criminal who has left his socialist homeland in the lurch. Berger feels watched, he feels that it also followed the Stasi in the West. Shortly after his escape, he is approached on the street. The two strangers are full-time employees of the Ministry. They call on Berger, to travel to Sweden, where his mother would wait for him. But Berger suspects a trap. "I could not imagine that my mother did the day I know that if I had been in Sweden, one would have tried to get back into the GDR." Certainty about the level of supervision Berger awarded only after the wall came down with the insight into his Stasi file. Unofficial least twenty-one staff had scheduled the Mielke-authority on him, of which more than half of the west. Two of his closest friends have spied on him for years, including Bernd Strange, who rises as a loyal Stasi information provider in the 80 years up to the coach of East Germany. After the turn No one is the old SED leadership cadre to get Berger added. Even Wolfgang Riedel, who led the 1979 delegation to Yugoslavia, has never apologized to him. As the Stasi file of the book author proves himself Riedel had immediately after the escape of Berger's stitched heel, with the aim to catch him even before the border. After the Fall Career Riedel makes the DFB. As Treasurer he wears to 2004, the responsibility for the finances of the Northeast German Football Association. For his outstanding service to him, the DFB badge of honor is awarded in gold. Even a well-known East German doping doctor Berger met again after the Fall: Dr. Hans Jörg Eißmann and early 90s working as a doping control on behalf of the DFB. Berger throws him on edge from the cabin. Until today, the DFB has failed to overcome his East German past. A deficit which Berger identifies deserving autobiography relentlessly.

Stasi employees in local administrations

How To Get A Real Golden Puffle

they still believe that there never was?

To view the documents simply click on it!

The present document reflects the methods of the Stasi, to harass non-state compliant citizens with sackings and the related social consequences.

This document issued by a detention facility for the detention of the opposition and politically incorrect citizens. Accurate Reporting on detainees were to be passed on to evaluating sites in Stasi prisons on the agenda.

An arrest warrant against a person only on the basis of statements from other detainees, an abandonment of the East German territory , is said to have planned with the help of smugglers. Arrest warrants pursuant to (usually under torture) forced confessions, which ended in its impact on long-term detention without any contact with the outside world. Many of these people disappeared from one day to another and appeared, if anything, many years later, physically and psychologically damaged again.

A search report that took place after a house search, which took place without the knowledge of the person concerned. These were in the GDR on the agenda. What they look like Stasi apartment searches, can they see in the "Video".

Olá, Laura! :: Campo Grande and Bonito:: Part 2

20th September, Sunday

The morning was snorkeling in the river Sucuri (still in Bonito) spent. Absolutely brilliant! We swam with long fish for about 1 hour. (There's a movie here . Although it is not ours, but you can win at least a glimpse of her.)

In the afternoon we got wet again, because we were rafting on the river "Formoso". As a 2nd wanted to group with their inflatable happen to us, there was a water fight. Veeeery funny! :) Then we went swimming at a waterfall.

the evening are Laura, Rafael and I go to the "snake man " gone. He told us about the importance of snakes in the ecosystem and then we were allowed to take photos.

Rafael

21st September, Monday

went on Friday's back home after Campo Grande . The departure was at 7 clock (morning) down, it was then But 8 clock somehow, and we departed at 8:45 clock in the end only. The Brazilian punctuality is an unfathomable mystery.

Back home we went to the ranch (= Brazilian farm) where we went with one of Laura's relatives, a 1.5-2-hour ride on horseback through part of the Fazendaareals. We rode through cattle herds and saw tapir footprints. It was absolutely brilliant!

22nd September, Tuesday

trip home to Sao Paulo .

I almost missed the flight because the woman at the counter seemed to have all passengers technical problems. The fact that the plane would not take off on time also, I was at this point yet (that have probably decided just before ... would fit the Brazilian timeliness and spontaneity:: hehe::).

Olá, Laura! :: Campo Grande and Bonito:: Part 1

Two Austrian friends go to the same school, in the same county, close the school from the same vintage and travel after high school coincidentally in the same country at the other end of the world. - "sounds funny, but it is so."

That was the short version of the story of Laura and me.

Since we are already in the same country, and have split up just 1.5 hours from one another, it is almost obligatory to take.

So I took my trip to Campo Grande on 18 September. Arriving at the airport I was greeted by Laura and her "aunt" Iracema kindly. Without further ado, we changed my return flight to Sao Paulo from 21 September to 22 September.

I will not torment you with details, so I consider myself short.

18th September, Friday

I flew - once again - with Brazilian celebrities on the plane. This time I was separated only 1 free seats out of a guitar (?) Of the group " Exalta Samba . Only after I in Campo Grande had seen a huge advertising screen, I realized, besides which "celebrities" I even had been sitting.

The young man (seen right in the picture, see this link ) wanted to even begin a conversation with me, but I was too engrossed in my drawings than I would have gone out.

Then Laura and I took a city tour of Campo Grande. Of course, we were sitting in the bus and enjoyed the sun. Stupid, it soon began to rain down and the bus was packed so full that we had to stay up in the rain. But we are tough:)

were there for dinner with friends for pizza. "Dinner"

19th September, Saturday

We had planned a 4 clock (morning) leave for Bonito by car - but it made the Brazilian punctuality 5 clock (and not for Laura and me). Originally we wanted to arrive for 7 clock, but then it happened at 9 clock.

First we went to a cave called Gruta do Lago Azul (to German: The Cave of the Blue Lake). As you can see in the picture, the water in this cave really blue!

On this day we have seen some Emus (understood in the wild of course).

In the afternoon we made a hike through a forest, where we visited many beautiful waterfalls .

The small Portuguese-Rafael also gave me lessons in which he read with me one of his comics.

What Are Interesting Cystic Fibrosis

The last prisoner of the Stasi

Uwe Hädrich the highest economic officials of the GDR. Until September 1989. Since he became a political prisoner and was even then in secret police custody, as the wall had long since fallen and the Ministry for State Security (Stasi) no longer existed. That's almost 20 years ago. More than 7,500 pages long is Haedrich Stasi files in the Gauck Authority. It is a story that gives an idea of how perfect the system with the Stasi spying, isolation and the breakdown all human rights, made sure that those applying for the GDR had declared their opponents, really had no chance. Uwe Hädrich everything seems like it was yesterday. It shakes his voice, his hands tremble as he reported in a hotel in Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg by his attempt to escape from East Germany and the subsequent ordeal in the top-secret Stasi prison in Hohenschönhausen.

Perhaps it was a kind of resistance gene, which was passed Hädrich in the family and that caused it in spite of all his privileges, life in the GDR could no longer endure at some point. Uwe Haedrich father Robert Havlik, a butcher from the Sudetenland, had in a concentration camp Dachau in the forties, the Social Democrats, Kurt Schumacher met. Ten years later, he had become the People's Police of the GDR, Havlik said at a master table, and in bitter beer mood: 'Kurt Schumacher is the only real labor leaders, Pieck and Grotewohl are not. "The Stasi overheard, and Uwe Haedrich father was sentenced for this one sentence to three years in prison. That was 1955th 26 years later, Uwe Hädrich top arrived in the system of the GDR, as deputy director general of state-owned retail HO. The same state that had followed his father as inhuman gave him a storybook career, including high school, study and advancement. He, the son of a widowed saleswoman, was now head of a company with 213,000 employees. He had everything offered by it to its citizens pattern: a modern apartment in Berlin-Marzahn, a car and permission to travel in the socialist countries. He also had a happy marriage and two beautiful children, "he says. Others would leave it at that.

fraud on all the people

Not so Uwe Hädrich. He was married to the daughter of the man who had wandered in the GDR for a set of Schumacher three years in prison. Somewhere deep in his heart he harbored a deep distrust of that state. Haedrich as in 1975 the text of the Helsinki Final Act in Read the new Germany, fell on them that were there all States, the CSCE, the new European human rights treaties acceded to its citizens freedom of travel and assurances regarding the free choice of residence. The GDR was the CSCE joined

The thought of the freedom of travel and the free choice of residence, the couple had since been hooked. When the GDR finally allowed its citizens to close relatives in West Germany to visit family events high, Hädrich wife went to relatives in Bavaria. What she saw there was the decisive factor. Because nothing was like the East German propaganda would have us believe its citizens, no one was unemployed, had all the money, and many had Houses and a perfect health insurance. In the shops there was anything much affordable prices. You could read what you wanted and say what you thought. "We knew," says Uwe Hädrich that "we from the GDR state in a way had been cheated, as one could imagine no worse." He looks up, and in his eyes is still the horror of this betrayal of an entire people.

stopped by tracer bullets

On May 1, 1989 is so far. The family has had to approve a "normal vacation to the Black Sea" by postal ballot have been chosen entirely accurate SED, rises and moves in their Wartburg in Hungary directly to the border. It's dark, tracer ammunition stops Haedrich. Border guards interrogate them, but they believe that they have just moved and sent them back easily. The family descends in Budapest, and from a pay phone calls Uwe Hädrich the German Embassy in the Hungarian capital: "I am a high economic official of the GDR and would like to talk to you ..." The family will receive, and would now be able to stay at the Embassy , to emigrate to the West but you can guarantee it at that time. A life on the embassy grounds, future uncertain? That was not the family. So, the Wartburg was re-started, and went back it to Berlin.

Furthermore, 27 persons were killed without an exit intention (1).

The Berlin prosecutors are 169 deaths from violence for the period from 13.08.1961 to 11.09.1989 against the East German border, including Berlin. (2)

How To Identify Burton Snowboard

survey results

the question is:

How many people live in São Paulo (city)?

your answers were split as follows:

the 8 million : 4 votes

the 550 000 : 0 votes

the 19.2 million : 3 votes

the 3 7 million : 0 votes

the 980 000 : 0 votes

According to your votes, São Paulo had 8 million inhabitants .

I have to disappoint you but, for the 3 people that voted for 19.2 million (April 2007) are right.

short and interesting

I've searched the internet for "world's largest cities" and have seen all sorts of information:

One website says, São Paulo is the third-largest city in the world, is on another it has the fifth-largest, etc.

is clear, however, found all the cases that São Paulo among the 10 largest cities in the world his place.

Further I have experienced:

  • 19.2 million inhabitants is also not quite correct - according to recent data there are nearly 19.9 million (in the metropolitan area of São Paulo City = as a core area and 38 surrounding cities).
  • The metropolitan region of Sao Paulo is about 7900 km 2 . (Compare> Vienna> 415 km 2 , New York 1214 km 2 )
  • the approximately 1,000 German companies in the greater Sao Paulo are the world's largest concentration German industrial companies .
  • The city is built over almost 50 years has increased from 874 km 2 to 2209 km 2 .
  • The city was founded in 1554 2 Jesuit missionaries .
  • Religion: About 68% of urban residents are Roman Catholic, Protestant 16%, 9% atheist, etc. (Figures 2000)
  • The Ibirapuera Park is the most important (and in my opinion, most beautiful) park São Paulo with 1.6 million m 2 .
  • São Paulo contributes together with Paris, New York and Tokyo, the title of "International capital of gastronomy."

Thanks for voting!
