Sample Referral Letter For Mortgage Broker

Manaus:: part 4

28th October, Wednesday

Today we had a 6 clock his morning at the reception. Because we did a canoe trip rose as the sun. Actually, the Americans had to be there, but they are not somehow come. So it was just Eddie, Thais and I, who paddled leisurely through the area.

spent the rest of the day sleeping, reading in hammocks, Thais took up the sun at the swimming pool and I was on the hunt for good photo opportunities.

29th October, Thursday

was At 7:30 clock's breakfast for us for two and by 10 clock back sunbathing Thais. (The crazy Brazilian women do not swim, no ... they go sunbathing.)

the rest of the day we spent in the cool room with reading or sleeping, because it was raining outside (even if only for a short time).

declined 20's clock then the airport and at home.
Our plane did not raise as planned at 23:35 clock, but only from clock at 00:30. About 7 hours later we were final at home.

How Much Do Canned Truffles Cost?

Manaus:: part 3

26th had to October, Monday, 22:30 clock

DC in the morning we depart by boat, since we need at least 2.5 hours to get to the target, which was where the Rio Negro and meet Rio Silmo . Due to the large difference between the two factors (temperature, ingredients, etc.), mix them only after about 1-2 km (I think I'm bad at estimating length). That looks absolutely awesome!

Right there we put on an island where we were informed about rubber and cocoa, and then had lunch.

in the river or the rivers, we saw some / many dolphins. Unfortunately, they were too fast and far away to a good photo shoot.

To Dinner we had an appointment with our tour group, since the start of the night and tomorrow, the Canadian, the Australian couple's home. On Tuesday, the Portuguese drive back home. So it was a kind of " final dinner . We exchanged e-mail addresses to stay in touch.

If I now want to travel then to Toronto, Lisbon and Sydney, I have a hotel. :)

After we had left the Australians and Canadians today, met 4 Americans (add a father with his 3 sons) and an Israeli couple in our group.

27th October, Tuesday

Our itinerary was already too late, but we could still go once again into the rain forest . By this time the Americans were here (. Treated the same verbally sadistic, as we in our family because I felt really comfortable. D), the Portuguese and the Israeli couple.

The Portuguese left us right after the 2-hour "walk" in the rain forest.

was it for me and Thais Once fashionable to do nothing. Only at 18:30 clock we could go a second time to search crocodile. The Americans followed us and kept us with their jokes in good humor.

Manaus:: part 2

25th October, Sunday, Manaus, Hotel Ecopark

The following nations are represented for the time in this hotel at least one person (as I've found so far):

  • Australia / Sri Lanka
  • Canada, England, Holland
  • Austria (Vienna, Linz)
  • Germany
  • Brazil
  • Italy
  • Portugal
  • Japan
  • India
  • England
  • Spain
  • Zealand
  • Israel
  • USA

has been demonstrated to have the two men I only for Australians have kept New Zealanders. But that's OK. I am of the opinion that New Zealand is a part of Australia - at least in the heart. (Hopefully reading this, no New Zealander, who would probably hate me for it.) Additionally, the almost always the same (also depends on where they are) and this is what finally here. I will not hear marry, but only talk.

clock 17:30

The Zealanders have to leave. :: Heul::

whom I hear when talking to??

The Japanese today is also driven home.

clock 20:00

Today was our day pretty full.

the morning (8:30 to 10:00 Clock), we walked through the rain forest same on the grounds of the hotel. After all, we live so in the rain forest. We have seen a lot of incredibly interesting plants and animals, from termites to giant beetles, hummingbirds, unique palms, orchids and ancient trees - everything was there.

A couple from Lisbon is now been joined to the group.

drove at 11 to the clock we place monkeys. We were not allowed to get too close, because the monkeys can be very aggressive. But a mother monkey was constantly with her little baby in the tourist groups. So we could at least make very good photos.

afternoon Native came from the northwest of the Amazon region to demonstrate to us some of their ritual dances. In the end, they called a few of the visitors on to dance along. Fortunately, I had "push" the camera in his hand and showed me so successful. Thais, however, was firmly on the dancing.

After dinner we had Eddie " lessons" about the rain forest, the Amazon region, the indigenous people, animals and rivers, etc. Very interesting. As we were leaving the "classroom" was a Thai Scorpio . He was black and about 7-10 cm. Eddie told us that they were highly toxic. He had already been stung by such a, what his cycle broke down and almost took his finger the size of a sausage. Joking is not so with these scorpions.

Pain And Shaking Right Arm

Manaus: From the jungle in the jungle:: part 1

24th October, Saturday, 6:00 clock, São Paulo

Before departure, I found one about the weather in Manaus to me for the worst (at least mentally) to prepare.

>> Wait for us daily approximately 35-40 ° C (with the "cool" than on Thursday. There is allegedly only have 31 ° C).

clock 11:00, Manaus

arrived at the airport we got a pretty violent so-called " Luftdetschn " (too German "air slap"), since the airport was air-conditioned and the difference to the approximately 35 ° C outside but very ... well, let's say "felt" was.

The hotel can only be with the boat achieve: First you have to be transported with a kind of ferry and then with a small motor boat.

The hotel complex is quite large and hardly manageable because the houses are all hidden somewhere among the bushes and trees.

As introduction to the hotel we got the useful information that a species of lynx cheetah or any other dangerous, large, cat-like animals here occasionally makes his rounds. Added about 2 weeks were 6 dogs that creature to devour. Now I feel really safe! (You notice the irony in my statement)

In the Amazon there are only 2 seasons : dry and rainy seasons. Right now the dry season. The temperatures are always quite the same, no matter what time of year.

So it's always hot here, what have we got to feel belonging. Almost every day we cross the 35 ° C mark. Add to that the high humidity, which means that it is basically the "I'm just out of the shower-wet

The river water looks very muddy and dirty. The mosquitoes do not like it what is the reason that there is virtually no pesky insects are, therefore, but also fewer fish (compared to Amazon).

swimming should definitely not be here unless you want to end up as either crocodile or piranha feed. The latter we have now witnessed the fish. (We have fished with real meat and fish have pulled literally from its hinges. Unfortunately, we only have 3 prisoners. Not so easy because the critters, the bait always chew until it is finally gone.)

But the icing on the cake come:

Coincidentally, we were on the move (among others) with a young Australian couple. They are originally from Sri Lanka, but living in Sydney. You have unfortunately no Australian accent.

But as fate will, these are not the only Australians in the jungle hotel. At least two middle-aged men come from the most beautiful country in the world.

Every time the two "Mates" talk to each other, I melt away, but not because of the heat, but because I just love the accent so much.

one has even spoken to me with - Cake. : D

Unfortunately, the two Australian gentlemen too old for me, otherwise I would probably come home married. But I have my future (Australian) husband already found, thanks to my "dear friend" July!

Oh yes, our tour group consists of:

  • a Japanese
  • a Canadian couple
  • an Australian couple and
  • us.

clock 21:30

has today started the program immediately. By 14 clock we made a tour by boat and our guide (his name is Eddie) told us some things on climate, animals, river, etc. Finally, we went fishing in a river. Our tour group caught a total of 3 fish.

to dusk at 17:30 clock was announced crocodile search. We went back by boat through the surrounding creeks around the bright lights in the eyes to follow. Eddie began even 2 young crocodiles for us. We were allowed to keep both, as you can see in the photos. It was noteworthy that both the guidebook "crocodilos" barefoot started! Pretty brave!

After the tour we went crocodile-like dinner. "Coincidentally," the two Australians were sitting at the table next to us. :)

We want out! Escape Story Part 3-hijacking as a last resort - the fate of Alexander Tiede

The stewardess crouching on their knees. Deep in her long hair at the back of the head pierces the barrel of a Gun. The man on her sweats. He screams in Polish: "We land in West Berlin! When I see beauty field, I'll shoot! "The hijacker is mechanical, it drives a thought". Just do not return to East Germany, or I'm going to jail "

Bautzen be afraid to say word. That is why he now holds the weapon. That's why he brings the Polish airliner TU 134, a course for the GDR from. And so writes Alexander Tiede, a simple waiter from East Berlin, a dramatic chapter in the history of divided Germany. It is the end of summer 1978, exactly 30 years ago. The superpowers confront each other as enemies. Cold War. Germany in the firing line. Alexander Tiede's life will order the GDR has guard towers, barbed wire and hundreds of miles a death zone errichtet.Der 33-year-old waiter out. Tunnels were dug, people hidden in cars, others ventured to escape in self-constructed hot-air balloon or light aircraft. But what Alexander Tiede has done is probably the most brazen escape from the Republic that has ever taken a GDR citizens.

"Welcome to West Berlin" to welcome the Americans the hijackers after landing at Tempelhof. Military vehicles have surrounded the runway. Tempelhof is a U.S. territory. Alexander Tiede must raise their hands. Under his schnauzer distinguished but far from a broad grin. Index and middle finger, he formed the victory sign. He is on target. Even the U.S. military, this small, wiry freedom fanatics immediately likeable. The Americans admire his courage and celebrate him as a hero because he was 50 East German citizens who, on 30 August 1978 sitting on board the Tupolev 134, which gives a chance for freedom. Nevertheless, he must make the Americans the process. The family Schröder, Alexander Tiede grateful to this day. With nothing but her two young children by the hand, they get out of the hijacked aircraft. Friends, family, work, furniture, the Trabi - all will exchange it for a new life in an unfamiliar land.

Today, 30 years later harnessed a powerful Tiede's belly under faded XL Neonshirt. But let's wide awake, eyes no doubt: The now 63-year-old is the crazy guy from back then. Tiede loves the heroic - and the Western media love him. Finally, you fight on both sides of the Iron Curtain came down with psychological weapons. The East German leader Erich Honecker government is outraged. She just celebrated her triumph: The first Germans had the GDR Sigmund Jaehn shot into space. The proof of the superiority of the socialist system. But bursts of rocket noise in the news, produced by the hijackers Tiede. That a voluntary "the better Germany" leaves is outrageous. East German Prime Minister Willi Stoph even publicly accused West German intelligence, planned the hijacking to have. "No way, I have done it alone," said Tiede, "the love of freedom and to my son." Now that he no longer works, he dreams of a biography. But hardly anyone remembers him. Not even the Berlin Checkpoint Charlie Museum, which documents the fate of many East German refugees, is his image.

his flight at the time this case has even inspired Hollywood. "Judgement in Berlin" is the film of 1988, with Sean Penn, Martin Sheen, Heinz Hoenig in the role of the courageous hijacker Tiede.
The case is spicy. Above all, legal. Americans and German long pass things back and forth, until the Americans in January 1979 finally use a "United States Court for Berlin". It is the only American jury trial, which takes place ever on German soil. And the only one who goes out from a hijacker at the end of a free man.

Tiede's story begins in Niederschönhausen, who later became East Berlin, where he goes to school. "As a child I moved around the city," he says. It supplies potatoes in West Berlin cellar. With the money he buys lemonade powder, later Chesterfield's true that there were just over there. From the DDR-Rundfunk Western popular music is already banned. Tiede continued defiantly hear the King of Rock 'n' roll - on the West Channel Rias. Nobody has the intention to build a wall. But 1961 is after all. Overnight. Tiede is not a type, one can arrest the man. Not in a country, not in a job, not in a relationship. Even now, as he says, his hands are always moving. He can well imagine how he ran as a young waiter across the room. High propped up, the tray with the Little Red Riding Hood sparkling, sometimes with real champagne. In the "VEB Johannishof", his training company, at that time frequented by the international guests of the GDR - West German diplomats and businessmen with selected Eastern celebrities. "I had no one with an anti-fascist protective barrier to protect against capitalism," he says. These hollow slogan angers him today. Wherever he looks, he sees only deficiency. For years, he is waiting for a Trabi, to her own apartment - when he first married in 1973, he and his wife Maria have assigned one. But the couple separated.

Mary and he always argue more often, they eventually separate. Since she is Polish, she can commute between East and West Berlin. One day she comes from a trip to the Ku'damm not go back. Their son John has taken her. A first attempt with fake Papers, together with his old love affair Ingrid Ruske and their twelve year old daughter Sabine, fails. From Gdansk ausbüxen they wanted to Travemünde, but the smugglers with the passports believed Tiede, was caught by the Stasi. Now he is stuck in the Polish port of Gdansk. "I drove forward the pure fear," he says. Because he does not know what he gets drunk. In broad daylight. In the dimly lit corner bar Danzig music playing the music of the popular Polish rock singer Maryla Rodowicz. In the rush to him then comes the mad idea. The craziest thing he's ever done in his life. Sober, he says to Ingrid: "I will take . An airplane, "she replies," You're crazy "

In Gdansk red light district wants to buy Tiede of shady characters and a gun!. But it drives the fear that he is already under surveillance by the Stasi. On 28 August, he replaced at the counter of the Polish airline LOT tickets. On the ticket is: departure: 30 August 1978 Line: Gdansk (Danzig) - Berlin-Schoenefeld. Start time: 8.40 clock. Tiede fears that the Stasi would give him and his girlfriend Ruske in Berlin are preparing a great reception. This day, 30 August 1978 celebrating the Schroeder's still like a birthday. Constance Schroeder was then 25 years old. Last year she Tiede after almost 30 years again seen for the first time. And hugged him. "He was my savior," she says. "Through him, my family got a second chance." She still lives in Mannheim, at the place where she has ended up in the unexpected escape. In the queue observed Constance Schroeder a family, their luggage is the only fully felted. She also sees how a customs officer found the girl a toy gun. Finally, he waved through the little jokes in Polish, "But do not shoot me dead"

front of her close in the cabin Schroeder sees the family again. There are Tiede, his companion and their daughter. You are sitting in row five. The young man is to frequently, smokes, drinks several cognacs. As the crew about 15 minutes before announcing the landing in Schoenefeld, he stumbles to the kitchen curved line in front of the cockpit. Schroeder still see his hands, then falls to the curtain. "I thought he was drunk and upset." As Schroeder, the 50 other passengers remain oblivious. Until the end. Behind the curtain Tiede threatened the flight attendant. With a toy pistol - just those who had waved through the customs officer. No one realizes that she is made of cheap tin. The terrified crew follows the demands of the kidnapper, the Polish captain radios the air traffic control: "He wants to land at Tempelhof." For 20 minutes, the Tupolev circling over the city. Only when Tiede far down does the colorful houses of Tempelhof, he is confident of victory and a cigarette in his mouth. Handed, the other still holds the gun.

Tiede know today, it was lucky that he had no real gun at hand. After landing, he kicks it down with the foot of the gangway. When the American captain picks the toy, he holds up the thumb, laughing. In the machine there is dead silence - to Tiede, the purely send the Americans a little later screams, "Who wants to get off, go! You are free! "This is the signal for Bertram Schröder. He immediately stands up. "It was absolutely clear that my husband gets out," recalls his wife, Constanze. He had often told her of his escape plans, it was always dangerous. To her he now says: "So I got up and had two children taken," Constance Schroeder follows her husband - and never regretted it, "Come!".. The rest of the tortured prisoners later in the canteen at the airport, fries, cola and West cigarettes with the decision. climb

Besides Schroeder's, and three other passengers, all in the evening a double-decker bus. With a detour on the Kurfürstendamm, past the KaDeWe, the Memorial Church, the "Café Kranzler drives "the bus in the eastern part of the city. Each passenger could "please hold" at any time, press the button and get off. No one does it, although in the eastern part of the city already waiting Mielke Stasi troops for questioning. He has achieved everything. In one day, "his luck" as he says, "For the rest of life exhausted. In fact, it is weighed him after his crimes. At first, anyway. It was lucky that he had flown straight to the Americans in their hands. He knows that he recapitulates his iced With a nearly nine-month detention: What he describes sounds like something from a luxury holiday. The first five months of which he was sitting off in Tempelhof. "Every I ate lunch in jail with another officer. So many T-bone steaks as never before in my life. "During his American friends successfully fend off all requests for extradition of the GDR, he goes jogging on the airfield.

The trial of the Tiede-flight, however, is delicate. The U.S. had just signed an international agreement against air piracy. A reaction to the kidnapping of the Lufthansa airplane "Landshut" to Mogadishu a year ago. The Americans have to make her sympathetic to the hijackers process. For 100,000 D-Mark, they build it in the airport Tempelhof an American courtroom. Negotiations are under U.S. procedures, so the Americans out of 500 Berliners select twelve jurors. The Stasi may have a smuggle their agents. As advocates of the single juror to "guilty." The flown in from New Jersey judge Herbert J. Stern Tiede sentenced for hostage taking. But the penalty is already paid for with pre-trial detention.

Tiede was dismissed in May 1979 as in freedom, it starts at zero. He is not a type, the so makes little scared. Too much he has gone through recently. Only first night torment him nightmares. "I often dreamed that the secret police kidnapped me in the East." Nevertheless, he is living in West Berlin. He reconciled with his ex-wife, but again it only holds short. The relationship with his son is difficult. He works as a waiter again, the money remains scarce. The Golden West knows very new and different borders that can not simply fly over. But now can travel Tiede. At first invite him to his American friends often are. In Iowa, they want to marry him even once. America is like it much too far away. "My goal was always just West Berlin," he says. "That's all I wanted at that time not."

In addition, I wanted to travel wherever I wanted and socialist, not only in the States. "So he decided to flee from the GDR. The time of many chosen path via Hungary or Prague Embassy of the Federal Republic it is too dangerous, as it would have to cross borders. The Baltic Sea appears to him there as the easier path. prosecution of refugees The Penal Code (StGB) of 1975, there are three paragraphs that dealt with the problem:

§ 254 - desertion
- This was only for members of the military.
Man committed desertion, that leaving the service, the troops or another for the specific location or stayed away from him, in order to evade military service. The result was 1-6 years imprisonment, in particular serious cases, 2-10 years in prison particularly serious cases, if were conducted by at least two people deserting, they leave the GDR, or wanted to stay in it. Preparation and testing of desertion were punishable.

§ 213 - illegal border crossing
- The unlawful leaving the territory of the GDR was punished with 1-2 years in prison (on probation), a fine or a public censure. In severe cases, it was even 1-5 years imprisonment, but only if the border was damaged equipment, carried or used tools were forged identity cards or border if step documents or have been abused or if so already had a criminal record.
preparation and trial of this was punishable by law.
-1986 some changes in § 213

The result could have up to 2 years in prison and in severe cases, 1-8 years in prison, the preparation you will be charged when we played with the idea to leave the GDR and those held in some form / pronunciation, or if you were caught in the restricted zone . If you shot at one border or fought with other weapons against the arrest could lead to life imprisonment.

§ 105 - anti-state Trafficking
- Someone who helped citizens of the GDR in a State-lying areas to move, they displaced, is discharged or prevented their return, was punishable by a minimum of 2 years imprisonment, in serious cases you could also get a life sentence. All in all, many successful escapes, while many victims have been required.

A major problem was that when a failed escape the same time their method / means of escape became known and were therefore the safety system and controls at borders, but also strengthened in general, and it became increasingly difficult over time to escape. But in the emergency situation, people were most creative and courageous. But without the help and protection of West Berlin / - Police / - border guards would have failed more refugees. report Stasi victims - Part 9 - Family Walther and the "Action vermin"

The following text tells the family Walther their fate in times of forced removals under the code name "vermin" and "Corn Flower".

Legal Basis for forced relocation from the area along the border zone was established on 26 May 1952 by the Council of Ministers of the GDR adopted the "Regulation on action at the demarcation line between East Germany and the Western occupation zones "and the command 38/52 of the Central German Volkskpolizei. In the Regulation, the Ministry for State Security (Stasi) was commissioned to" immediately strict measures for strengthening the security of the demarcation line to to prevent penetration of saboteurs, spies, terrorists and pests..

While the workers of machine-tractor stations (MTS), the farmers and forest workers forced the plowing and clearing of a ten-meter-wide strip, the placing beginning of signs to mark the 500-meter protection zone and the 5-kilometer exclusion zone, have been using the spy documents in the police and the Stasi compiled lists of auszusiedelnden people.

Of all these changes, we were only the visible part, namely the fixing of the zone boundary. We did not know that was conducted on every person who lived in the 5-kilometer zone, an index card of the People's Police. Were we really so naive or did we not hear of it and see because it is difficult to live with the thought that anything said, done or told the only master table has been, is being held? There was also the spring much work on the farm, that hardly anyone thought about political states.

The unusual activity, the Umackern of the fields and meadows on the border, the bustle, which revealed the people's police, told us, however, already restless. But still, everyone thought nothing can happen to us, but we have killed anyone or hurt anyone else. It became increasingly clear that in the newspapers and on radio quite a rush delivery points striking against the Federal Republic. That the Ministry for State Security and the VP with the participation of local authorities in accordance with the above instructions a purge of "hostile, suspicious and criminal elements" carried out, we in no way related to us. By the time we knew nothing about the forced relocation of families in Saxony and Mecklenburg, which took place as early as mid to late May.

The 5th June 1952, a week after Pentecost, was for me a day like any other. I had to get up at 6:00 clock, get dressed, then put in the lounge chairs on the tables and sweep the floor. That was my daily task, before I took the bike out to drive in the county seat to high school. On that June 5 was all very different. The parents were traumatized from the barn into the kitchen and said, today I did not have to go to school, we would have gone. I understood nothing and said, "What do you mean, we have to go where we are, and why?" Parents shrugging their shoulders and told that today by five clock in the morning, a police officer was there who took the cards, and a document read to them, after we had to leave within twenty-four hours the village. Neither I nor my parents understood the importance of writing. That could only be a mistake. First would have milked the cows and fed the pigs and chickens are fed, it would hopefully this silly thing to have cleared up. We had done nothing wrong and also has to judge in a democracy, a court, whether someone should be jailed or otherwise punished. But we lived in a German Democratic Republic, there are no arbitrary punishments, so there was just a misunderstanding. Such were our thoughts and so I did not go to school, but went on a village street where there was great excitement.

came out from each property, the men and said the whole village must be evacuated, it would certainly be war. The SED press had predicted all along that the Americans are willing to drive over the border with tanks and bring the smaller German Democratic Republic to the great West Germany. Already for weeks were such assumptions and fears in the newspaper where these lurid propaganda war over again on the first page was presented and indeed so often that it no longer taken seriously.

now came during the morning policemen in large numbers to the village and gave instructions to the affected families to pack personal belongings, because it would truck to us and our furniture to the next station, go to Sonnenberg. To the cattle, we should not worry us, it is governed everything. Stunned, the parents stood around and only found out later in the day, that not all homes should be evacuated, but only selected families would be taken away.
Our neighbors were our relatives, were also selected for these families, as well as our Neighbor to another courtyard. The men who made the decisions in the family, agreed that after all this has to do with the border and could only be a temporary thing. They were just comply with the order of the government, because it would turn out that no one has something wrong that warrants a serious punishment. In addition, there would still courts and it would take this lying down.

Certainly not only with us that day was not cooked, eaten nothing. We were unable to understand this event, let it into perspective. The court and leave the house, which was only possible in case of death. Farmers are traditional, always act within the meaning of ancestors and remember the life of the offspring. My father, usually so energetic walked with its arms through all the rooms of the house in the stable, in the barns, in the garden, without doing anything or speaking. The mother stood with neighbors in the kitchen again. They made themselves thought of what will now be whether we would come around to Siberia, or only to the Polish border as a farm hand. Suddenly us the prophecy of the woman Janik from Estonia came to mind. If they are right so that you do not live under the Soviet system. The women were also considered to flee at night to Neustadt, so to Bavaria. We still had not packed, it was summer, maybe needed But if no winter clothes, but we thought that we are safely back home, until the cold season there. We stood around helplessly, I definitely took my school bag at me. Still in the village was an atmosphere like before the arrival of Americans on the war end of 1945. There were many considerations, which will probably be whether the remaining families have also gone the next day or in a month. "If a war is coming, you did it better, you are gone, but we will be here maybe involved in fighting just across the border." Sun splashed fears and forebodings back and forth.

Then came the evening father's cousin Edelgard to us and started bedding, duvets and blankets to stuff in bags. We watched as if we are nothing went on. She was an energetic young woman and asked if we wanted some sleep on cold floors. It did not matter where would we sat done: to have beds is the most important thing. They also brought baskets of home, where they stacked pots and pans and all packed with towels. I squeezed a canvas bag in his hand and told me to my underwear, my clothes and shoes to accommodate them. I did and grabbed my sister and suitable for a sack. For my mother and my father took over the Edelgard packing. My mother was looking for pictures, my father sat with his head on the water trough in the yard and cried. This has shocked me the most! I thought to my father in very different situations experienced. A man who had fought in the war, which was full of ideas for the future, she sat there and cried! He was 45 years old and was still full of plans. But such an event had been foreseen by anyone in the village.

Today we know that in every village in the border area were people who selected the families who are so certain that families should be forcibly deported. Now I know that this action was carried out under the code name "vermin" and intimidate the people in the border zone and should make them amenable to further transformation of agriculture within the meaning of the SED. The selection of individuals was responsible zwangsauszusiedelnden in first line in the police as the lead of any person documents were found on statements or opinions held by anyone. Involved were local organizations, such as party groups, trade union cadres, employees of the Stasi and the unofficial mayor.

In our village had eleven families receive this command, the Government, including the two guest hosts, so our family and the family Knauer. On 6 June 1952 were taken 29 people into trucks for transport to Sonneberg. This sounds very businesslike, but it was all a bad situation, a complete turning point in her life and a life not turning for the better. It was a life break, after which everyone had to reorient .- This we have not covered this time of course. The immediate events, let us not think that far.

As we have spent the last night in our house, I can not remember. After my parents were the last time in the barn to feed the animals, they took to the streets and gave the people the police, who were always present, all the keys. We entered the house again and joined by, not from it.

On the morning of 6 June was a truck in front of our house and we were ordered to furniture and personal belongings to recharge itself and then climb into the bed of the truck, to be taken away. Still, no one knew where we are placed. Rumors and speculation drove us fear. Is it perhaps about Buchenwald or another detention beyond the Oder / Neisse border? Again, we could not lift a hand and we stood before it and invited neighbors to our furniture. Again, it was Edelgard which determined what is to be taken, which needed a family ungedingt.

relatives and neighbors were standing around us, the sheer terror in his eyes, thinking it should go on as if they would also be collected. As we climbed up onto the truck between four bedsteads, a table and four chairs, a wardrobe, the sewing machine and the kitchen cabinet had been looking for a place to sit, all the people wept in the street and so do we. After the truck had set in motion, no one waved. All retreated into their homes and closed the door firmly behind him.

from any location that was within the 5-kilometer zone, drove on that day the trucks to the train station, loaded with furniture and disturbed people. The villages that we passed through were deserted. No one was on the road to see on the farm or at the window. Everything looked uninhabited. Not only we are on the trucks were very afraid to go where it is, even those left behind who wanted the image of departure not impress in his mind. You wanted to see and hear nothing. Man can only endure a certain degree of unhappiness, it is exceeded, is a displacement of what happened and heard. You want, and look no more. So it was on this beautiful summer day of the 6th June 1952.

Our transport into the unknown began in the late afternoon. The boxcar we shared with our relatives and neighbors the same surname. The train stopped often, but always in uninhabited areas, so we do not know where we were. Night at 2:30 of the clock stopped freight train, the doors were opened and we got out. We were on the freight station in Göschwitz, namely in Thuringia. All were breathing on, thank God it was not on the Polish border Russia. Yet no one knew whether it was terminal or just a stopover for us. Police unloaded the wagons. Again our few pieces of furniture were on a train station. Then came trucks, police verfrachteten each family with their furniture and then went out into the night. We traveled between 2 und 3 clock in the morning in complete darkness in a village, the truck stopped in front of the church. Windows in houses were opened, sleepy women looked out and saw the middle of the night, a truck stop in their village, which was loaded with furniture and with a family. The driver asked for directions to the address he had to take "temporary home 24 ".

One of the women offered us that the child, she said my sister would wait in her house for the night. My nine year old sister did not want to own away from parents. She was afraid. The driver finally found after long Look in the night the way to "temporary home". It was a shanty town that was located outside the village Lobeda on a mountain slope. Formerly there were accommodations for prisoners of war who had to work in Germany in factories. To this barracks led to only a fairly attached lane, the truck was driven on with the effort. At a barracks in a series of similar visual appearance accommodation was the final stop. It was still dark. At the behest of the driver increased we made. Incredulous, we saw our future home, it looked more like a shed. Nevertheless, we began to carry our furniture into the building. Light was present. Two rooms with one window, a stove, but without water connection - that was our apartment. These unacceptable conditions made my parents really hope. They thought that can stand in as a barracks during the winter no family, so it would only be a temporary accommodation.

The first were built in the night, nor the four beds, the bedding was removed from the bags and slept on my sister to sleep. When day came, we saw the whole shanty town and were amazed that it was inhabited by displaced persons from the territories beyond the Oder / Neisse or the Sudetenland. These families, who were but actually accommodated only temporarily in the barracks lived several years there. They had taken the property in winter, and still hoped for a better place to live, because homes could not call them shacks. There, now we put on our furniture and set up a few have brought the two small rooms somewhat "comfortable" one. The nicest thing about this shantytown of the situation. We looked far into the Saale valley, in the back was a lime, covered with dry grass and various shrubs and plants.
My parents had no idea how it should now go further. First, my mother tried the iron stove to light, but what? We had no coal or wood, but four people wanted to eat and drink. A central water point, we found at the end of the temporary road. But we had not even taken bucket. Edel has forgotten them. The neighbors, residents of other barracks were very helpful, they took us to eat and drink. For the first time in her life my parents were forced to seek a livelihood outside of the house. They had little cash, as we had at home after the currency reform, a new garden wall to the street can build a beautiful wall of granite Steinacher. In this way the account was nearly depleted.

From the city of Jena, we were given a transitional allowance and food stamps issued.
My father asked if someone would stop in a nearby butcher. But it was in the GDR, the time of the expropriation of the small business and you were glad to be employed by the former own business as a master. The last remained to the slaughterhouse in Jena. Our father began on 1 7. to work in 1952 in the VEB slaughterhouse, it's not as masters but as laborers. This was the further humiliation, he had to accept. He consoled himself with the thought that it could only be a temporary measure.

Action vermin "- forced evictions in the name of the Stasi

than people were in the context of two major actions on the inner-German border at the behest of the East German government in 1952 (code name "vermin") and 1961 (code-named "Cornflower ") from their villages - as it was glossed over -" resettled ". has also been up in the seventies, after also worn down and the last inhabitants were expelled, many of these villages, the East German leaders were close to the "border-West", razed to the ground. All these villages were in the so-called "exclusion zone". The total area of 5-km restricted zone along the 1394 km long border covered over 3,000 square kilometers, which was about 2.8% of the territory of East Germany, more than the area of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

The truck came at dawn with minimum power. Of the People's Armed policemen jumped off platforms, invaded the houses in front of the village and gave brief instructions: "Make ready to pack things for your own safety, you must immediately leave the boundary circle..." People were quick to gather together a few belongings, they were loaded onto trucks and brought in hastily erected homeless shelters throughout the GDR. Just as the 100-strong community Stresow, 45 kilometers north west of Magdeburg located on the Elbe, were from May 1952 Hundreds of villages depopulated between Rhön and the Baltic Sea. They had in the eyes of state security a major flaw - they were too close to the border with the West. Action vermin ": The code name of the forced resettlement action was. It was meticulously planned and was considered a "secret classified information." A legal basis for this action did not exist. It was based only on orders and instructions of the Minister of State Security Wilhelm Zaisser and stood in stark contrast to the GDR constitution. But the State Security had authority over the border regime.

triggered the forced relocation was the Council of Ministers of the GDR of 26 May 1952 "on measures at the demarcation line between East Germany and the Western occupation zones of Germany, "which provided for a rapid expansion of intra-German border. It towers were built, pulled head-high fences and created a 500 meter wide protective strip that could be entered only in daylight and with a special pass. The entire border area to a depth of 5 kilometers was declared a "restricted zone".

taught Initially, the forced relocation only against "hostile, suspicious and criminal elements" that should be removed as quickly as possible from the border area. This could be farmers, the resisted collectivization, persons with frequently changing sexual intercourse " or simply political dissidents. The frame was from the State Security broad. Not rare enough, but also denunciations to be included on the list of "hostile elements". In the course of forced resettlement, whole villages and towns were depopulated in the border area. From the "Action vermin" were in the 1950s affected some 10,000 people from the "Action cornflower" in 1961, again about 2000. More than 3,000 people escaped by fleeing the resettlement in the West. But even in the 1970s and 1980s there were occasional forced relocation from the border area.

for the displaced had forced the evacuation from their homes in most cases a farewell, never to return. The villages were depopulated in the course of the further expansion of border security systems often razed to the ground - like the village Stresow on the Elbe. Simultaneously, the State Security had put all the parties concerned urgently close, to maintain silence about what happened. Compensation for the loss of homes and farms was not provided.

Difference In Green Bars And White Bars

father-child relationship

Today in church we took John 3:1-13 by . The issue here is that Nicodemus asks how one gets to heaven. Jesus answered, one must be born again ... (What's next, you know I hope you yes.)

Somehow I thought of it that we are supposed to think like children and then I had the picture of Gustavo and his son Diego "in the head.

I recently noticed is that the 2 is an absolutely brilliant team. Diego is the sweetest child that I have ever seen and Gustavo is an incredibly loving father. The little son of man looks up at him when he was the greatest hero in the universe. In it he seeks protection and if he feels insecure, his dad is always there. It is also striking that his son Gustavo leaves plenty of room. Diego can deal well alone, yet he never lets his dad in mind. If he have the slightest doubt or fear einwenig has immediately looks for his hero and protector who helps him and cares for him.

I think this is a beautiful picture, we can also look up to our Father in heaven.

He leaves us much freedom, but he is ALWAYS there!

He is our hero, the greatest that has ever existed in the universe and always will be.

He is our protector and refuge when we are afraid.

He says every time we come to him and only wants the best for us.

He is the Almighty, omnipresent, loving Lord Jesus Christ!

Amen.

News overview

like this entry, I tell you briefly what were my biggest impressions of the last few days.

4th October, Sunday

I got from my friend Ana (church) invited to the lunch . Together with her brother, mother, aunt and grandma went I to church in a shopping center, where we filled our hungry stomachs together.

All but the mother could speak German.

Anas brother (whose name I unfortunately do not know) was at least 2x, in Vienna and outed himself as an avowed Wienfan.

Anas comes Grandma, I think, originally from Germany, which is why they still speak German (I hate to say yes! The Germans are EVERYWHERE)

And Anas studied aunt for several years in Erlangen, which is why she speaks German perfect German.

It was great fun and Ana's family is very nice!

6th October, Tuesday

From Goethe Institute our school got free tickets for the Jennifer Rostock concert in São Paulo - I, of course. Although I do not like their music, I was planning to take advantage of the free tickets and Ana (the friend from the church) to go out there.

unfortunately had to cancel Ana, because she had 2 exams the next day at school. I am not also gone, because I

first not alone wanted to go and

second because I wanted to sleep so and so.

I have for now 2 unused tickets for the Jennifer Lopez concert, which will soon adorn my travel journal. :: Muahaha::

7th October, Wednesday

On Wednesday I was to speak in terms of "football" deflowered ". Adriana, Gustavo and a friend of both me have the game São Paulo vs. Coritiba taken . Has taken place the game in the stadium Morumbi, which I was really impressed. (So big!)

With 3 real São Paulo fans on my side and surrounded by a crowd of other supporters São Paulo, I was able to witness first hand how mitfiebert in Brazil in soccer. Unfortunately, the game ended in a tie of 2-2. Well ... at least we have not lost.

logo of SPFC (São Paulo Futebol Clube) was on my fingernails

In any case, it is an experience in itself!

8th October, Thursday

Gustavo's birthday (40)

To celebrate the day were tables in the old famous Bourbon Street music club reserved. Adriana wanted to pick up at 21:15 clock, from which it was but 22 clock. (This is the Brazilian punctuality and I find it great!)

There was a Cuban salsa singer Fernando and friend of Gustavo. Fernando is actually the nephew of the pianist Buena Vista Social Club ! (On my "Fatha" I'll get you nor your autograph!) My dance teacher was there and I was naturally asked to dance. He was - once again - amazed at how quickly I'm learning (though I still believe that he says this only as an incentive). In any case,'s fun.

until around 2:30 (I think) I got into bed.

Ah yes, the cake was super good! :)

10th October, Saturday

Gustavo Geburtstagsgrillerei

Gustavo celebrated on Saturday with a couple of other friends his birthday a 2nd Time at a barbecue.

At about 11:30 clock I picked up Adriana and Gustavo, we drove just outside Sao Paulo in the country to a huge housing estate with

  • 4 houses, a large swimming pool
  • ,
  • a small bathhouse,
  • a "grill-garden-hut,"
  • a vegetable garden and chicken coop
  • .

I am in amazement no longer come out so big and beautiful everything looked!

Luckily, like my birthday gift Gustavo very good. He has correctly felt honored that I gave him a few songs sung / played. ('ve Had since I still get lucky.)

This barbecue were some friends from the salsa dancing there. One of them (I think his name was Henrique) Adriana asked why I speak English with her since. Then they " Because they come from Austria. "

Overwhelmed, he replied:" I thought they would be here "Then silence ...? "AAAHHHH! Now, I know why they always answer me with a grin and nod and never talks to me! I've had it my half-life stories told and they do not even understand! "

all laughed uproariously! Me too, and I was touched rather embarrassing. :) This was definitely the "knowledge of the day".
